Based in Peterborough and fully accredited with NICEIC, we retrofit industrial and commercial premises with energy efficient LED lighting, safely removing and disposing of traditional incandescent or fluorescent lighting systems with the minimum of disruption.

Our founder and Managing Director Mike Hurford is an experienced and fully qualified mechanical and electrical engineer. He completed his engineering apprenticeship in Peterborough then worked as a technician in Africa for three years, testing and inspecting lighting equipment. After returning to the UK, Mike worked as an electrical contractor for several different companies specialising in industrial and commercial lighting, as well as energy conservation and heating. Mike started Lighting Electricians in 1991 and it was officially opened by then Member of Parliament John Major. We have worked diligently in the lighting industry for more than 25 years, install around 150 lights per day and have a long list of satisfied customers.

We have approximately 20 full time employees and work with a national network of over 4,000 fully qualified and registered electrical contractors, all of who are CRB checked for your peace of mind. This blanket coverage of the UK means that wherever your business is located, we can get a LED lighting installation team straight to you quickly and efficiently. What’s more, we store and assemble all LED components at our purpose-built 2,000 square foot facility in Peterborough. This means that once we have your order we can produce all the necessary lighting and ship everything straight to the job for a hassle-free installation.
